SANTA CLARA, Calif. April 14, 2016 — Palo Alto Networks® (NYSE: PANW), the next-generation security company, today announced that Sielte SpA, a cloud-based information and communication technology (ICT) service provider with operations spanning Italy, Spain, Romania and Nigeria, chose the Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Security Platform to satisfy customer demands for managed security services that successfully prevent cyberattacks.

Sielte currently supports approximately 500 customers, encompassing about 10,000 devices and a wide range of applications. Consequently, the company must be vigilant about safely enabling applications and preventing cyberattacks from threatening its internal network assets, as well as those of its customers. In an increasingly complex threat landscape, Sielte's customers were requesting managed security services as part of Sielte's cloud offering. After realizing a legacy approach couldn’t provide sufficient protection against today’s sophisticated threats, the company took quick action to find a next-generation security platform that not only supported its internal security needs but also provided a flexible, cost-effective way to deliver managed security services.

With the Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Security Platform, Sielte can now proactively detect and avert cyberattacks, including emerging unknown threats. Importantly, Sielte successfully blocks cyberthreats while increasing network performance by 150 percent over its previous firewall with 50 percent of available bandwidth to spare for future growth. This enabled greater throughput to support the highest number of concurrent user sessions, paving the way for Sielte to build its managed security services business and expand its revenue opportunities as a partner of Palo Alto Networks.
