Santa Clara, Calif., October 9, 2014 – Palo Alto Networks® (NYSE: PANW), the leader in enterprise security, today announced that members of its Unit 42 threat intelligence team will discuss research techniques for security in Internet Explorer at Black Hat Europe 2014, taking place in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, October 16-17.
In 2014 alone, Palo Alto Networks researchers have been credited by Microsoft with discovery of more than 50 critical Internet Explorer vulnerabilities– more than nearly all other regular IE research contributors. Palo Alto Networks discloses suspected vulnerabilities through participation in the Microsoft Active Protections Program (MAPP), part of an ongoing commitment to protect enterprises, governments and regular users of Internet Explorer from advanced persistent threats and the attackers behind them.
During Black Hat Europe, Palo Alto Networks researcher Royce Lu will reveal “The Power of Pair,” and discuss the Palo Alto Networks strategy that enables fast, efficient discovery of IE weak spots.
